The project consists of the construction of 7 Km of elevated express ways with an average of 8 traffic lanes, two major bridges with cast in situ decks over the Chao Praya river and a highway intersection between them.
Alpi-SEA is proud to have been selected as the prime supplier of formwork and falsework systems for this important road project, which gives us the opportunity to show our technical design capabilities and capacity for precision manufacturing of all the required formwork and falseworks systems. The first need of the project was to construct columns with a maximum height of 40 meters, topped by V-parts. The largest of those is more than 14 meters high. The form for the V-part alone weighs 60 tons and is able to withstand the pressure of the pouring of 150 m3 of concrete in one single pour without even moving a millimeter.
A special challenge was presented by the desire of the client to combine in a single piece of equipment, false- and form-works for crossbeams, topped by crosshead- and road deck-forms and their underpinning supports. The result is a versatile system that enables the client to pour cross beam, crosshead and road deck in only two pours. In addition the equipment can be adjusted for cross and longitudinal tilts of up to 6% and can accommodate width and height variations of more than 1.50 meters.
Construction of the Industrial Ring Road (IRR Project) in the southern part of Bangkok proceeds almost unnoticed, in spite of the fact that this project represents a technological high point in infrastructure construction in South East Asia. The project has been awarded to two major Joint Ventures, TNNS J.V (Taisei, Nishimatsu, NKK, Shino-Thai) and K.T.U J.V(Kajima, Tokyu, Unique)
